Nurturing Freedom

Culture, Creativity, Play & Belonging

Nurturing Freedom Saturday Academy is BEE’s seasonal learning experience for families with children ages 3–11.

Through art, storytelling, literacy, movement, nature, history, and culturally rooted learning, children explore who they are, where they come from, and the freedom to imagine who they can become.

African Diaspora Consortium

Our curriculum is developed in partnership with the African Diaspora Consortium, connecting children with African and African Diasporic history, culture, creativity, and ways of knowing.

Families participate in seasonal learning series supported by our Counselors in Training, ages 12–17, giving older youth opportunities to develop leadership while supporting younger children and families.

Past experiences have included visual arts and artist residencies, cultural arts, nature-based learning, storytelling, movement, and other hands-on experiences.
