Healing Justice

BEE’s Healing Justice work recognizes that communities experiencing inequity also need places to rest, reconnect, heal, and experience joy.

Healing Justice is woven throughout BEE’s work because we believe communities should not have to wait until harm occurs to experience care. Joy, rest, connection, culture, movement, land, and water are themselves part of prevention.

Our land-based healing work includes gardening and farming, plant medicine, food as medicine, nature experiences, movement, and opportunities for families and care workers to reconnect with the land and culturally rooted practices of care.

Our water-based work addresses both water equity and healing. Through swimming, water safety, water walking, and other experiences, we are creating opportunities for families to build confidence and safety in and around water while reconnecting with the cultural, and historical significance of water.
