Join us for a special Sweetgrass Basket Weaving Workshop Series held over 4 weeks alongside our Nurturing Freedom Saturday Academy. This small-group session is designed for adults who want a deeper, unhurried cultural arts experience in an intimate learning environment.
Participants will receive personalized guidance from Donna Edwards a skilled cultural bearer and tradition keeper. You’ll learn the foundational techniques of Sweetgrass basket weaving while exploring the rich history, cultural significance, and living legacy of this sacred Gullah Geechee art form.
This workshop is perfect for beginners, creatives, culture keepers, educators, and anyone seeking a grounding, hands-on experience rooted in heritage, storytelling, and artistry.
