Financial Donations

Your donations to the BEE Collective Birthing A Community Program make it possible for doulas to complete their training and be compensated for their critical work.

Our BEE Birthing A Community Coalition is a multi-generational network and Community of Practice for birth workers in South Carolina. We exist to reduce maternal and infant mortality and morbidity in the Lowcountry of South Carolina.

  • $75 – covers the cost of a prenatal or postnatal visit
  • $175 – covers the cost of birth care (labor and delivery)
  • $650 – covers the entire course of care for one family
  • $950 – covers all DONA or CAPPA certified training necessary for one doula

We recruit, train, and support a new generation of birth workers that honor the wisdom and traditions of the many elder and ancestor granny-midwives in that have served and protected our communities.

Reimaging Funding Partnerships

Vital Village Networks of Opportunity for Child Wellbeing (NOW) is built upon pillars of equity, dignity, and community-centered leadership. As NOW’s work has grown over the last several years, there has been an intentional focus on how to build and support local capacity to drive the transformation they want to see in their community.

In the late spring of 2021 NOW partnered with 15 community champions, including members of the BEE Collective to reimagine cooperative funding structures.

Check out “A Dignity-Centered Guide to Reflecting on Cooperative Funding Structures”, a new resource that encourages funders and their potential partners to think intentionally about the goals and outcomes of their relationship, drawing on elements of successful #cooperative and #collaborative structures.
