Elevating Worker Voices, Building Solidarity, and Empowering Charleston’s Childcare Workforce
Charleston, SC – On September 21, 2024, the BEE Collective and the Charleston Alliance for Fair Employment are joining forces to host the inaugural Childcare Worker Circle, a transformative event designed to unite childcare workers from across Charleston. Taking place from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at 1142 Morrison Drive, Charleston, SC, this worker-led gathering will offer a safe space for open discussion about workplace challenges and opportunities to develop collective solutions and build childcare worker power.
The Childcare Worker Circle is part of a larger initiative aimed at empowering some of Charleston’s most essential but under-recognized laborers—those in childcare. Participants will learn about their rights as workers, engage in conversations about building solidarity, and find community with fellow childcare workers who share similar experiences.
Attendees can expect:
Refreshments will be provided, and all workers in childcare and related fields are welcome to attend.
This event is a vital step toward building power among Charleston’s childcare workforce, a sector so crucial to the well-being of our community but often overlooked. Whether you’re a childcare worker facing challenges at work or an advocate for labor rights, your voice matters. Join us on September 21 to discuss solutions, form connections, and participate in a movement that centers the dignity and rights of all workers.
